TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) W2 South Toll road segment Cileduk-Ulujami that was just inaugurated and operated can be directly used as an alternative road for homecoming [season]. "We intentionally accelerated the opening of the toll road to support homecomers in accessing a faster travel," supervisor gate Cileduk I, Ngadio, told reporters yesterday.
Ngadio said homecomers using the JORR W2 toll can directly access the road towards Soekarno-Hatta Airport or Merak Port.
Minister of Public Works Djoko Kirmanto inaugurated the operating of the toll road on Monday. Cileduk-Ulujami segment along 2.14 kilometers completing its two previous segments that are ready: Kebon Jeruk-Joglo and Joglo-Ulujami. By the completion of the last segment and also the network development of JORR from Rorotan in the eastern part of Jakarta up to Penjaringan, so it can have direct access to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
The operating of JORR W2 South toll is believed to provide a sizeable contribution in reducing 30 percent of the density traffic on toll roads in Jakarta. "Starting today, road users from and to Bekasi, Bogor, Tangerang and Soekarno-Hatta can use this toll road without having to go through Jakarta’s Inner Toll road," Djoko said in a statement during the inauguration.
