TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spokesman of Prabowo-Hatta campaign team Tantowi Yahya said the resignation of Prabowo, as stated at Polonia House, did not mean that Prabowo steps out of presidential candidacy. "Prabowo was not resigning from the presidential candidacy but resigning from recapitulation process," said Tantowi yesterday.
Both Prabowo and Merah Putih coalition party have stepped out of recapitulation process as they were disappointed with the General Electoral Commission (KPU). "We stepped out because we have observed various facts that there had been a number of violations," said Tantowi.
"In Indonesia, there are 479,000 voting venues at 77 voting regions. Prabowo-Hatta has 685,000 witnesses. That means no post was left unmonitored. This is a legitimate data," said Tantowi.
The former reality-show host later confirmed there were indications of violation at 52,000 voting venues. "We criticize KPU that run an unfair and dependent election," said Tantowi.
