TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pramono Agung, a senior politician at the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), called on supporters of Joko “Jokowi” Widodo-Jusuf “JK” Kalla to remain calm over Prabowo Subianto’s statement rejecting the election results.
“We are hoping that the team wouldn’t overreact to the statement. If the democracy is disrupted, we have to pay the price,” Pramono said at Megawati Soekarnoputri’s residence on Tuesday, July 22, 2014.
“Any disputes should be taken to the Constitutional Court,” Pramono said.
Pramono said that he is still hoping Prabowo and his team would accept KPU’s decision, because political tension could result in unwanted consequences.
