TEMPO.CO, Manchester – Manchester United have lost all of their veteran defenders playing for them for more than eight years in light of the recent transfer of Patrice Evra to Juventus.
It all began when Nemanja Vidic, who decided to end his career at Old Trafford and joined Inter Milan last season, followed by Rio Ferdinand’s moving to London’s QPR.
Rio Ferdinand said their golden era with United was over, as he tweeted “The old guard has gone....myself, Vidic & Evra...great times together....the young lads are ready, I believe they will now blossom #mufc”.
The departure of the three seasoned defenders is also a sign of the end of Sir Alex Ferguson’s era and the dawn for Louis van Gaal to arrange a new formaton of power, including United’s line of defense.
