TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Satria Hamid Ahmadi, Secretary General of Indonesian Retail Business Owners Association (Aprindo), said that all members of Aprindo will open for business on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. "We will not close because consumers need goods," said Satria earlier today.
He hoped that the rumors of riots during the presidential election result announcement by the General Election Commission will not occur.
He said that every store will operate normally without extra security and complicated procedures. "All we do is increase awareness, that's all," he said.
Satria said that Aprindo does not want to worry the consumers. "If we employ extra security, it might frighten the consumers," he said. He is confident that the result of the election will be responded positively by both sides. He hoped that the winner will not be arrogant and the loser will accept defeat willingly.
