TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The General Election Commission (KPU) has finished recapitulating the votes from 33 provinces in Indonesia and the votes collected from Indonesians living abroad. The result puts Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla ahead with a total of 70,997,895 votes while Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa only managed to secure 62,576,444 votes.
"Let us appreciate KPU of North Sumatra, as the last province to be recapped," said KPU Chief Husni Kamil Manik.
The Jokowi-JK pair wins in 23 provinces, as well as in foreign countries. On the other hand, Prabowo-Hatta wins in the other 10 provinces. In response to the result, Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto has stated that he rejects KPU decision, accusing the institution for violating the prevailing regulation.
