TEMPO.CO, Jakarta —Commuter train operator PT Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) said its electric trains would not stop at Pasar Senen station during the homecoming and returning rush during the Eid al-Fitr holiday season this year.
PT KCJ communications manager Eva Chairunisa said commuter trains from Depok and Bogor leaving for Jatinegara and vice versa, which usually make a stop at Pasar Senen station, would not stop at the station.
“The commuter trains will not stop at Pasar Senen station beginning Monday, July 21 until August 3, 2014,” Eva said.
Eva said this decision ensued from the reorganization of routes carried out by PT KCJ and state-run railway company PT KAI to ensure the smoothness of traffic during the Eid holidays this year.
Eva said the routes would become the departure and arrival points of long-distance train used by homecomers. “So we call on electric train customers that usually get on or off the trains at Pasar Senen station to use the nearest stations such as Kemayoran or Gang Sentiong stations,” she said.
Eva added that the operational hours of the electric trains would remain normal during the Eid season. “Including on the first and second days of Eid al-Fitr, the schedule will remain normal,” she said.
