Jokowi's Winning Sign Helps Boost Rupiah

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The sign that Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla are about to win presidential election affected the trade at Indonesia Stock Market (BEI). Analysts from Universal Broker Satrio Utomo said that Jokowi's winning sign potentialy carries on the positive trend to days ahead of today. "The euphoria can last longer and extends wide," he told Tempo.
In light of electoral result tomorrow, Satrio predicts that Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) is to rise reaching 5,200 to 5,650. As for Rupiah, the euphoria helps bolster the value to below Rp11,000 per US Dollar.
Satrio said that traders can aloready guess who the next president is, causing trade flow to be positive. On today's first closure at BEI, IHSG slightly jumped at 0.65 percent, while Rupiah vbalue bolster at 0.44 percent.
Satrio also predicts that several bonds have shown improvement, namely at infrastructure, mining, and media - except that of Bakrie and Harry Tanoesoedibjo's group who are accused of publishing broadcasting false result. "Investors know which results are correct and which are not," he said.
