TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A member of Anas Urbaningrum’s attorney team, Pia Akbar Nasution, said that seven witnesses will be presented in the alleged gratification gift relating Hambalang project and other project cases in the Judicial Corruption, Monday, July 21, 2014.
“The witnesses for today are Aldasni, Denny Yanuar Ali, Deny Hafas, Heru Dwiatmoko, M. Ichsan Loulembah, Ratna Irsana and Winantuning Tyastiti, Pia said in a short message received by Tempo on Sunday.
According to Pia, the chances are that the witnesses presented by the public prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) will not be vital.
“The majority of third party witnesses can’t explain anything that Mr. Anas received money for the victory of the Democrat Party Congress,” Pia said.
In this case, Anas is charged to have violated Article 12 letters (a) or (b) or Article 11 conjuction Article 18 Regulation No. 31 Year 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption with a punishment of 20 years imprisonment.
The former Chairman of the Democrat Party is mentioned to have received a gift as a remuneration for handling Hambalang project and a project in the Directorate General of Higher Education in the Ministry of National Education, and other projects funded by the State Budget Expenditure (APBN).
The gift is in the form of one Toyota Harrier with license number B 15 AUD worth Rp 670 billion, one Toyota Vellfire with license number B 69 AUD worth 735 billion, money for Anas’ winning survey activity in the 2010 Democrat Party Congress worth Rp478,632,230 and also several money of Rp116,525,650,000 and US$5,261,070.
In the money laundering suspicion, Anas tried to camouflage a money worth Rp20,880,100,000. The money was obtained by Anas from various sources.
