TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police (Polri) have prepared 22,500 officers to guard an open plenary of a vote recapitulation by the General Elections Commission (KPU) tomorrow.
Polri Chief Gen. Sutarman said in the first security ring, officers will be attired as civilians and monitor conditions inside the building. If there was a problem, the officers will inform to the guards outside. The second ring is [to monitor] the security outside the building.
In the third ring, officers are to use water canon to dispel crowds should a riot occur. In the fourth, officers are to secure road access to Jl. Diponegoro, Central Jakarta.
Gen. Sutarman said: "The police will act firmly if there are any violations and peace disturbance."
