TEMPO.CO, Bogor - A baby giraffe was born at the Indonesia Safari Park Cisarua, Bogor, West Java on July 9, Antara reported. Due to its birth date that coincided with Indonesia’s presidential Election Day, the baby giraffe was named Pilpres (president election).
Drs. Jansen Manansang M.Sc., the Director of Indonesia Safari Park (TSI) Cisarua said the baby had only recently appeared for public due to the health aspect. The baby was born around 3 p.m after a three-hour birth process.
The ninth member of the giraffe family has almost reached one meter tall and it is estimated to weigh 100 kgs.
