TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama said he was mulling a regulation concerning scholarship. According to him, one point in the regulation governs the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP).
Ahok wanted the KJP to help students to continue their study to universities.
"The KJP can only help students for three years. We are planning a regulation so that it can take them to universities," he said last night.
Therefore, Ahok will make the selection of the KJP recipients to be stricter.
"It would be better if the KJP helps those who really want to study," Ahok explained.
The KJP program will be evaluated since it has yet been effective. Ahok viewed that funds for the KJP program were inadequate to help the large numbers of poor students.
