TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The General Election Commission (KPU) today has started the vote recapitulation at national level. The recapitulation is scheduled to conclude Tuesday, July 22 and it will be closed by the announcement of the presidential election results.
"All of the election committees arrived in Jakarta to recapitulate the votes," Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Chief Daniel Zuchron said yesterday.
The KPU hoped the public can accept the results so that no objection will be filed to the Constitutional Court. Earlier, the KPU conducted tiered recapitulations at four levels for the presidential vote on July 9.
The recapitulation started from vote tallies at sub district polling stations conducted for three days (July 10-12), followed by tallies at district level on July 13-15 and at regency-city level by local KPU teams on July 16-17. The final recapitulations at the provincial level were conducted on July 18-19.
During the national recapitulation, securities around KPU building have been tightened, and some traffic near the building has been redirected.
