TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Denny Malik Entertainment Group which represented Indonesia grabbed the audiences’ attention in the IV Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of the Asia-Pasific Region in Krasnoyarsk, a region in Serbia, Russia, recently.
As reported by Antara, great appreciation was received by the group from people and government of Krasnoyarsk. The group, consisting of 15 members of dancers, musicians, and singers, presented folk dances from Aceh, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Betawi in a contemporary style. Traditional music instruments such as talempong, gondang, and suling were brought from Jakarta for the performance.
In addition to perform at the main stage of the festival, Denny Malik who is an Indonesian choreographer and singer also performed in a town which was one hour away from the capital of Krasnoyarsk.
“After watching the performance of Denny Malik Group, the Mayor invited Denny Malik Group to perform again in the coming winter festival,” said Juju Masunah, the Director of Music Performance Industry of the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Economy Creative.
The ambassador of Russian Federation and Belarus Republic, who attended the event, also gave a positive impression toward the event.
The festival has been routinely held annually and is participated by 30 countries in Asia Pacific including Indonesia, Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, India, Guatemala, Korea, Costa Rica, New Zealand, United States, Thailand, Fiji and Philippines.
