TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two Indonesian mixed-double teams, Alfian/Annisa and Markis Kido/Pia Zebadiah have defeated their opponents in the quarter final yesterday to play on the 2014 Taipei Open Grand Prix semifinal today.
Alfian/Annisa took down Japan’s Ryota Taohata-Koharu Yonemoto 17-21, 21-13, 21-11 in the quarter final. The pair took the lead at the first game but the Indonesians managed to reverse the position after changing their playing pattern to become more aggressive.
In the semifinal today, the 2014 Vietnam Open International Challenge Champions are going to take on Hong Kong’s Chan Yun Lung/Tse Ying Suet.
"For us, the most important thing is that we will play to the maximum and confidently in the semifinal. The result comes after," said Annisa.
Other Indonesian mixed-double Markis Kido/Pia Zebadiah also passed the quarter final challenge after winning over South Korea’s Yoo Yeon Seong/Eom Hye Won 21-16,23-21.
The third-seeded double will be playing against China’s Liu Yuchen/Yu Xiaohan at the semifinal today.
