TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police headquarter will prevent any massive public movements from the outer regions approaching Jakarta during the recapitulation of presidential votes by the General Elections Commission (KPU) on Tuesday, July 22.
"We are attempting to prevent public movements from outside Jakarta to the capital," said General Ronny Frankie Sompie, the Police Headquarters’ chief department of human resources, after attending a discussion event in Cikini earlier today. "There are a number of areas we have secured.”
Public supporters of one of the presidential candidates from a number of regions outside Jakarta are predicted to come in groups to the capital city during the vote recapitulation.
"That is why we have placed officers in seven areas to intercept people in West Java, and we have placed officers at three areas in Banten to stop them from coming to Jakarta."
