TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Seven art photography colleges in Indonesia are joining a creative media event featuring photo exhibits, television programs, art videos, films, animation and games at the Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) of Denpasar held from July 17-20 2014.

“The exhibition that involves the Association of Indonesian Recording Media Arts Lecturers (ADSMRI) is themed “The path to creative media—the strengthening of national identity through arts,” said rector I Gede Arya Sugiartha, who was accompanied by ISI Yogyakarta lecturer Alexandri Luthfi on Thursday.

Besides the seven national art colleges, he added, the Malang State Institute, the University of Western Australia (UWA) and the University Teknologi Mara (UTM), which had been ISI’s partners, were also invited to the event.

He said the event was part of ADSMRI’s 5th national meeting at ISI Denpasar, which sought to answer the challenges and foster the sustainability of art education in Indonesia in forming creative and innovative human beings ahead of the 2015 ASEAN Community.

Alexandri added the level of creativity and intellectuality of college students could be measured from the variety of their works that were exhibited or broadcasted.
