TEMPO.CO, Manchester - The new Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal along with Manchester United, held his first press conference yesterday and revealed that he would not make any new signings until he had fully assessed his current squad over the next four weeks.
Van Gaal who succeeded in bringing the Dutch to the semi-finals in the World Cup, believed he could win in his debut season with the Red Devils.
According to Queens Park Rangers boss, Harry Redknapp, Van Gall needs more players arriving in addition to the signings of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera.
"Van Gaal's got a good track record but they need players. He needs to bring four or five players in at least to get them back to where they were under Alex Ferguson, where they were winning championships because they look well short of that at the moment," Redknapp told the Sports Bar.
Without bringing new players with the mentioned numbers, Redknapp somewhat sanctions that van Gaal will be able to bring Manchester United to grasp the championship title this season. Redknapp pointed to the strength of title rivals, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal that have bought in new players.
"I wouldn’t see them being as strong as Chelsea or Man City," he added. "I think Arsenal have made a great signing in Alexis Sanchez so they could get a lot closer next year."
