TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta City Administration is set to operate 50 double-decker buses to support the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) implementation on Jakarta main streets. "We would like to purchase double-decker buses through the e-catalogue," said Acting Governor Basuki Tjahaja 'Ahok' Purnama.
Ahok said that the armada will provide free ride along the ERP lane. "[We will] provide free double-decker bus service per 10 minutes," he said.
Moreover, the buses will help encourage motorbike users to utilize public transportation because they will not be allowed to go through streets included in the ERP program. Meanwhile, the bus' operational cost will be taken from the budget gathered during the ERP implementation.
