TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama doubted that the target of absorbing 97 percent of the Jakarta budget for 2014 would be achieved. Among the reasons was the non-completion of land acquisitions for some of the capital's projects, he said.
“Achieving 97 percent [of the budget absorption] would be difficult when there are lands to be acquired,” Ahok said on Sunday, July 13, 2014. However, Ahok declined to lower the target to accelerate the development by improving the performance of Jakarta's working units (SKPD). Until the second semester of this year, only 20 percent of the US$6-billion budget has been used.
Therefore, Ahok asked the new regional secretary to the Jakarta administration, Saefullah, to pressure the Jakarta Goods and Services Procurement unit (ULP) so that the bidding proposed by each working unit could be followed-up on.
Ahok also asked the ULP to alter the code of the bidding proposal to reach the target before December 15. He said this would seperate procurements that could be done via e-catalogue from those requiring a tender.
“No more collective procurements,” he said.
