TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A strong earthquake of 5.7 magnitude shocked residents of Kediri and its surroundings on Monday noon, July 14, 2014. The quake that occured twice manages to shake zinc house roofs and causes panic.
The quake made residents of Kediri who mostly were enjoying their naps running outside their homes screaming.
Luckily, panic did not occur in the elementary building. Most schools had been dismissed since the first day of Ramadan. “If not, it will surely cause a panic,” said Kukuh, a security of Sukorame III Elemantary Kediri.
In less than 5 minutes, the Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency directly released an earthquake information through gadget applications. Several gadget owners admitted in receiving the information about the 5.7 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter of 104 kilometers in the Southeast of Pacitan and 109 kilometers in the Soutwest of Trenggalek.
