TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Chilean international Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona in a 32 million pounds deal, becoming the second most expensive player in the squad so far.
The former Udinese playmaker will join up with his new team-mates in late July following a post-World Cup holiday, with his debut set for the Emirates Trophy in early August.
Barcelona in their official website praised Sanchez for being an integral part of the team during the past three years. During his time in Barcelona, Sanchez scored 47 goals in 141 matches, helping Barcelona win La Liga, Copa del Rey, European Super Cup, Clubs World Cup, and Spanish Super Cup.
Arsenal's signing Sanchez is believed to be a great move that the North Londoners made, given the fact that they have lost a figure of goal-predator since the era of Thierry Henry. Besides signing Sanchez, The Gunners are reportedly keeping an eye on signing Real Madrid's Samy Khedira.
