TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Home Affairs has signaled its approval for Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama over bureaucracy reform in Jakarta. The Head of Information Center at the Home Affairs Ministry, Didik Suprayitno, said yesterday that Ahok had been allowed to remove agency heads.
Didik said the procedures must be based on Government's Regulation Number 49/2008 regarding Regional Head, stating that the replacement must be approved by the central government, which in this case is the Minister of Home Affairs.
The replaced officials can be transferred after being approved by the Ministry.
"The regulation states that acting governor is not allowed to transfer civil servants without the minister's approval," Didik said.
Earlier, Ahok planned to reform the Jakarta officials. The recommendation has been prepared and will be sent soon to the Home Affairs Ministry.
