TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Secretary of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Hasto Kristiyanto, has claimed that Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo-Jusuf Kalla will run the government as mandated, amid opposition's ruling parliament. Hasto said Jokowi's programs are pro-people, meaning that legislative institution cannot stand in their way.
"When we have people supporting us, all programs will run properly," said Hasto. His statement came in light of the notion that PDI-P Faction - as a winner of legislative election - might not head the House of Representatives, as a result of the revised MD3 legislature.
Hasto sees the revision as a desperate measure from the opposition party in countering Jokowi-Kalla's imminent winning. "They wish to maintain their status quo to help keep their seats in the parliament," said Hasto.
