TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mayor of Bekasi, Rahmat Effendi, allowed the civil servants in the Bekasi Administration to use official cars for Homecoming journey. “As long as they don’t change the license plate from red to black,” Rahmat Effendi said in Bekasi on Monday, July 7, 2014.
Not only that, Rahmat requested that all officers who are willing to use an official car as a vehicle for their homecoming journey, is obligated to sign an agreement first. The agreement stated that if the vehicle is damaged, whether it is caused by an accident or lost it, the officer who is using it should repair or exchange the car. “It can be used, but there are rules,” Rahmat told reporters.
According to Rahmat, the Government of Bekasi allows official cars to be used for homecoming journey due to certain considerations. One of them is the absence of secure parking if the cars are to be left in the office environment.
Official red license plate cars are currently held by echelon 2 or head of service/head of offices, head of sections and head of villages level. The types of cars of several officers in Bekasi are Toyota Innova, Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Terios.
