TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle’s (PDI-P) Yogyakarta district executive boards (DPC) has urged TVOne management to clarify and apologize for their false report that accused the party and presidential candidate Joko Widodo as [part of the] communists."
"[PDI-P wants] Clarification and apologies from the central to representative regions as a form of media commitment as the pillar of democracy," said the PDI-P’s Yogyakarta advocacy team member Chang Wendryanto to Tempo, Friday.
To date, they have yet to receive any information on any clarifications and apologies from the television network. "The party feels to have been abused before there are any open clarifications and apologies," said Chang.
There will be no further actions of locking and scribbling graffiti at the Yogyakarta TVOne office that happened on Wednesday evening. "We will also urge the central management to maintain peace," Chang said.
