TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Police have deployed about 1,400 personnel to secure the "Salam Dua Jari" (Two-Finger Salute) concert at Gelora Bung Karno Senayan, today.
"The personnel are from the Jakarta Police and sub-precinct police offices," Jakarta Police Public Relation Head Rikwanto told Tempo, adding that 1,325 personnel were under the Jakarta Police command and 78 others were from the Central Jakarta precinct and Tanah Abang sub-precinct offices.
The concert - held at 2 p.m. - will feature a number of artists endorsing Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla pair in the upcoming presidential election.Abdee from [band] Slank, Ian Antono, Ahmad Albar, Glenn Fredly, Tompi and Sandi Sandoro were among the musicians.
"There will be duets, collaborations, poetry readings, and religious advises in the Ramadan month," said Abdee, one of the initiators of the concert, Thursday.
Rikwanto predicted there would be around 50,000-75,000 people attending the concert.
