TEMPO.CO, Karanganyar - Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto promises to establish the Ministry of Rural Development if he is elected as the new president. Parade Nusantara chairman Sudir Santoso said that the promise was conveyed by Prabowo during a presentation to gain his organization's support.
"Prabowo promised to form the Ministry of Rural Development," said Sudir during Parade Nusantara's declaration to support Prabowo on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party's deputy chief patron, and Priyo Budi Santoso, deputy chief of the House of Representatives from Golkar Party, were present in the declaration.
Sudir said that the commitment to form the Ministry of Rural Development is written by Prabowo in a letter of statement, which was distributed to those who were present in the declaration. The letter, dated June 10, 2014, states that the establishment of the Ministry of Rural Development is intended to accelerate the development of villages as well as implementation of Law no. 6/2014 on Villages.
Prabowo said that villages will be more prosperous in the future because every village will receive development fund of Rp1 billion annually.
