TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - The police have confiscated 103 kilograms of marijuana in a recent raid on a cell-phone outlet on Jl. Angkasa Puri, RT 03 RW 08, Kampung Pemahan, Jatimekar, Jatiasih, Bekasi City.
The police also arrested a person allegedly involved in the circulation of the marijuana. "He acted as a courier, he has been named as a suspect," said the Bekasi City Police's anti-narcotics unit Comr. Sukardi on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
Sukardi said the operation was launched following multiple reports on drug-dealing activities in the area. The police then followed-up on the reports and carried out an investigation that led to the suspect, Arifin Setiawan, who used his cell-phone outlet as a cover-up to sell the marijuana.
The police discoverd the marijuana in the outlet's storage. The illegal drug, which supposedly belongs to a convict at Nusakambangan prison, was sent from Aceh. The police are now looking into the case to unravel the syndicate behind it.
