TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - None Jakarte 2004 (Miss Jakarta 2004), Rizka Amalia Putri Iskandar, 31, has died in a taxi accident at around 3.30 a.m. Thursday. The accident took place on Sedyatmo toll road, Kamal Muara, North Jakarta, when Rizka and husband Aldico Juniarto Savardan, 31, were on their way to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
The Blue Bird Taxi with license plate B 1410 KTD who was driven by Eko Yulianto, crashed into a truck and another car. Rizka died; Aldico and the taxi driver survived.
Head of Accident Section Law Enforcement Subdirectorate Metro Police Department, Commr. Miyanto, said Rizka was about to travel to Malaysia with Aldico.
Rizka’s body was directly taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. Severely injured Aldico and Eko were taken to Atmajaya Hospital, Pluit, South Jakarta for treatment.
"The cab driver and one passenger in the cab survived," said Miyanto today.
The accident occured when the taxi they were in hit the rear right side of a truck with the license number H 1956 HS, that was stopping on the side of the road. The taxi then bounced to the right and collided with a black Honda CRV. The impact made the taxi swerve to the left and hit a concrete lane separator. The taxi was wrecked and secured by PT Jasa Marga management officers.
