TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Operational director of the State-owned railway company PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (PT KCJ), Apriyono Shresnanto, said the company will add more electric train (KRL) trips to serve Bogor/Depok, Bekasi, Serpong and Tangerang routes starting June 1.
"The number of trips will be increased to 645 per day from 589 per day in 2013," Apriyono told Tempo yesterday.
The railway company will also add more trains from 8 to 10 to anticipate the increasing number of passengers, according to Apriyono. He said the additional trains and trips would be significantly effective. "Additional trains mean more passengers."
The largest train armada will still be allocated for Bogor/Depok with 33 trains, serving 294 trips per day. Bekasi route that has 117 trips will be served by 9 trains. Serpong will have 9 trains to serve 104 trips, and Tangerang with 62 trips will be served by 3 trains. PT KCJ will also operate three non-commercial trains (feeder) that cover 68 trips.
