TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of the Jakarta Education Agency Lasro Marbun said the agency had completed the necessary technical requirements of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) education allowance program. But he added the fund for the KJP program could not be disbursed yet until after the July 9 presidential election.
“This is our commitment, in accordance with the circular from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)," Lasro said on Thursday, May 22, 2014. He assured that the fund would be disbursed after the election. “It’s just a matter of time,” he said.
Lasro admitted there were a number of parties who had exuded complaints over the decision, while adding that the agency would cling to the regulation. He said the agency would also consult the Jakarta Financial Management Body regarding this issue. “Because we planned to hold a meeting last week but the meeting has yet to take place until now,” he said.
The KPK has suggested that the social aid fund not be disbursed until after the July 9 presidential election. This measure aims at preventing the fund from being misused for political gains.
