TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gurjit Singh, the Ambassador of India to Indonesia met with Deputy Governor of Yogyakarta Sri Paduka Pakualam IX today. The meeting was held to discuss efforts to organize Indian cultural events in Indonesia, particularly Yogyakarta.
Both the Ambassador and the Deputy Governor agreed that both countries must step up efforts to improve cultural cooperation between both countries. Until today, the Indian Embassy has held two 'Slice of India' events at several universities in Yogyakarta, participated in the International Ramayana Festival, and held 2 exhibitions on 'Women on Women' and '60 years of India-Indonesia Friendship' in Yogyakarta.
In addition, ambassador Gurjit and Sri Paduka Pakualam have also agreed to organize another discussion to improve cooperation in the field of information technology. Business delegations from the India Business Forum will also observe certain sectors that can be improved in the near future. (*)
