TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Napoli outdid Fiorentina in the rough Coppa Italia final match 3-1 earlier today at Olimpico Stadium. The match was kicked-off 45 minutes later than scheduled due to violent fans' clashes that injured four people in total, Daily Mail reported.
The delay did not seem to affect Napoli's determination to win the trophy as Lorenzo Insigne scored the goal opener at the 11th, and second goal only six minutes after. Fiorentina tried to catch up through Juan Manuel Vargas who executed feed from Josip Illicic with his left-foot shot into Napoli's net.
At the 79th, Napoli were forced to continue the match with only ten men as Gokhan Inler was handed the second yellow card. During injury time, Dries Mertens added up one more winning goal for Napoli, leaving Fiorentina too far behind to catch up before the game was ended.
The victory becomes the fifth Coppa Italia title for Partenopei and the first under the reign of Coach Rafael Benitez.
