TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Narcotics Unit of the Jakarta Metro Police have recently pulled off a bust of an international syndicate's meth lab. The police managed to confiscate 90 kilograms of meth worth around Rp 180 billion, according to the Deputy Chief of Metro Police, Brigadier General Sudjarwo.
The busted meth lab is located at Cideng, Gambir, Central Jakarta, near Roxy Police Post. The one-storey building is far from suspicion, yet sheltering packages of meth. Sudjarwo said the bust was made following an intel out of one-month investigation.
Sudjarwo said the meth was imported from Hong Kong via Malaysia, before entering Dumai and reaching Jakarta. "This belongs to an international syndicate."
The police have also arrested a citizen of Hong Kong named Lay Shiu Cheung, 36, the owner of the facility.
