TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian tennis team was held draw 1-1 by Hong Kong on the first day of Davis Cup’s Asia-Oceania Zone playoff at Gelora Bung Karno Tennis Stadium, yesterday.
First point for Indonesia was attributed to Christopher Rungkat who defeated Hong Kong’s Ognian Kolev 7-6 (1), 6-4, 6-4. Hong Kong won its point after the country’s first seed Phillip King defeated Indonesia’s David Agung Susanto 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-1.
"I’m so happy to be able to win a game at Davis Cup this year after my previous absence in Kuwait," said Christopher after the game.
Today, the play-off is up for doubles matches. Indonesian doubles had previously failed to secure two points.
