TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Trade, along with Femina Group, have organized a workshop called Fashion Branding at the office of the Ministry of Trade on April 24-25. This event is part of Jakarta Fashion Week that will be held on November 1-7 at Senayan City, Jakarta.
"This workshop is expected to give guidance for the fashion industry players in Indonesia to determine the effective marketing strategy, especially with the brand creation," said Director of National Export Development, Nus Nuzulia Ishak, yesterday.
The workshop presented Bette Londo, a teacher at Italy's fashion and design school, Instituto Marangoni. The school that is behind the success of the famous Burberry brand, is now opening a branch in London and Milan.
"With the long experience in thei ndustry, Instituto Marangoni is the right associate to open a fashion branding theme and to also inspire our designers to acheive success in the business," said Lenni Tedja, Main Director of Jakarta Fashion Week.
Members of this workshop are the young talented designers such as Tex Saverio, whose works are favored by Guffanti Showroom in Italy and Fenwick in England. Jenehara, whose works caught the attention of Guffanti Showroom in Dubai are also among the designers.
Indonesia's fashion products today have contributed quite much in the national export performance. According to the data from Central Statistics Agency, the value of Indonesia’s fashion export products last year have reached US$11.78 billion. Exports in last January have recorded US$1.08 billion or increased 1.1 percent compared to the same period last year.
