TEMPO.CO, Damascus - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, has accused all parties involved in the Syrian civil war of "flagrant violations" of international law over the delivery of aid. "Thousands of people are not getting the medical care, including life-saving medicines, that they need," he said, as cited by BBC.

Ban Ki-moon then urged UN Security Council to act to implement a resolution passed in February to allow greater access of medical aid. In his report to the council, he mentioned that there are almost 3.5 million civilians who were being denied vital aid, including medicine and medical care.

The uprising in Syria began in March 2011, after security forces opened fire on protesters. Since then, Syria has descended into civil war as rebel brigades, including al-Qaeda Islamists and jihadists, battle with Al-Assad's government forces for control. The civil war has at least killed 150,000 Syrian, with the tally keeps on increasing.
