TEMPO.CO, Lampung - Business owners in Lampung show support to Jakarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's plan to work with them in farming sector. Director of PT Juang Jaya, Giki Argadiraksa, said only a small portion of his company’s cattle has been distributed to Jakarta.
"Our productivity is at 2,500-3,000 cattle a week," Giki said when he met Jokowi yesterday, adding that only 1,500-1,800 cattle have been distributed to the capital.
According to him, the cooperation would allow more cattle to be distributed to the big city. He even proposed to have the cattle be distributed as beef since his company is affiliated with slaughterhouses that will increase the distribution efficiency.
Chairman of Lampung Chicken Farm Association, Agus Wahyudi, said the productivity of poultry in Lampung can reach 13.5 million a month. About 30 percent of the poultries are distributed to Jakarta.
"If the cooperation is solid, resources in Lampung are ready to be utilized," said Agus.
