TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sentiong River Inspection road, North Jakarta, will be completed in about a month.
Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo said the inspection road construction had begun since three months ago. "This road will be built all to the end of Sentiong River," said Jokowi on Monday.
According to Jokowi, people can later pass through this road, which is why this road can reduce traffic congestion. "The river is to prevent flood, while the road is to reduce traffic jam," he said.
Reservoir and River Normalization Coordinator Heryanto said that around 1.5 kilometers of the road had been finished. "The first phase is 750 meters. Now is the second phase which is 2.5 meters," said Heryanto. The width of this road is around 10 meters.
Heryanto said residents around Sentiong River had been moved to Komaruddin low-cost apartment, East Jakarta. There were around 200 families moved.
This inspection road will be built from Marto Bridge to Martadinata Bridge. The rest of the road will be built toward Benyamin Sueb street, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
