TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta administration will reform its civil servants starting in June, said Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama on Monday, April 21, 2014. Basuki, or famously known as Ahok, said the reformation would be started from the third class B officers upward by evaluating test results.

Ahok said that district heads and village chiefs should function as bank managers, as they focus more on service. The function is set forth in the law of state civil apparatuses.

Ahok reminded that Jakarta governor Joko Widodo had mulled to recast village administration offices just like banks. The Jakarta governor wanted the offices to have longer office hour and put village chiefs as the manager. Therefore, Ahok added, the public can be facilitated when they need service from the offices.

Ahok said the one-roof integrated service (PTSP) will no longer be centralized and each village administration office will have such service.

"You can imagine [what can we achieve] if we have 500 offices [with the one-roof integrated service]," Ahok said.
