TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Manchester United continued the awful series of defeat under the reign of David Moyes, after losing 0-2 in Merseyside against Everton. Despite ruling the game with 61 percent of ball possession, the Red Devils succumbed to Everton in Goodison Park, by the goals from Leighton Baines and Kevin Mirallas.
Everton, playing before their home fans, played an effective football, booking five shots on goal within 17 attempts. United, regardless their ferocious strikes, booked only two shots on goal with none scored.
The defeat remarked the first time that United is twice down against Everton in the Premier League after 44 years. On December, United was one goal down against the Toffees in the Old Trafford.
This season also remarks the first time that United fails to compete in Champions League since 1995. United sit at seventh in the table, collecting only 57 points with four matches left this season. Arsenal at the fourth of the table has already collected 70 points, making it impossible for United to somehow steal the the position.
