TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta International School (JIS) will hold a press conference on the recent sexual harassment case in which its kindergarten kids had allegedly became victims. The press conference will be held at Sultan Hotel and will be attended by JIS principal Timothy Carr.
This is JIS’ first press conference after the sexual harassment case in the school was revealed. Otto Cornelis Kaligis, one of the victims’ lawyers, said he had received information about the event. “I don’t know whether it will be held or not,” said Kaligis on Monday.
So far, JIS has yet to announce any official comment on the sexual harassment and the fact that it had operated its kindergarten bereft of an operation permit. Carr has expressed his concern over the case and pledged to work with the Ministry of Education and Culture to solve the sexual harassment case.
“Our main focus is the well-being of the students and their families, as well as security and safety of the school community,” Carr said on Wednesday.
