TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Railroad Company's (PT KAI) head of public relation, Agus Komarudin, dismissed an allegation that Commuter Line train trips had been delayed because KAI prioritized intercity trains. The allegation was made by a number of passengers who launched a protest against the company by blocking intercity train track at Bekasi Station.
Agus Komarudin said the delay had no connection with the intercity trains. Agus said passengers just made their assumption based on what they saw in the field, saying that intercity trains had been prioritized to use the track. But those trips had been scheduled by KAI.
"You can check the graphics," Agus said at Bekasi Station on Thursday, April 17, 2014.
But Agus said the company has received the passengers' complaints. He said the management will discuss the issues within the next three days to find the solution.
As a result of the protest, a train heading to Solo was held at Bekasi Station. Railroad activities at Bekasi Station collapsed, as thousands of passengers protested the company over frequent delays.
