TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - There is no sign of near completion related to construction project of Tanjung Priok Port toll road in North Jakarta, even though it has entered the fifth year of construction. Meanwhile, the project is targeted to be done in early 2015. Land acquisition problems are the main factor of this hampered Rp4.4 trillion project, as reported by Antara News.
The Jakarta Governor, Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, had instructed North Jakarta Mayor Heru Hartono to support the land acquisition.
"Traffic jam could not be avoided due to this unfinished project. I'm sorry. But, the local mayor promised to finish the land acquisition next month," Jokowi said during his visit to the project area, Wednesday.
Jokowi admitted that the city administration takes the responsibility over land acquisition although the project is run by Ministry of Public Works. About 45 plots; 11 plots in Cilincing Sub-district and 34 plots in Koja sub-district, need to be bought.
