TEMPO.CO, Turin - Juventus attacker, Fernando Llorente, said he and his teammate Carlos Tevez deserve to play in the 2014 World Cup. The statement was uttered because he and Teves are not listed in their respective countries' squad.
"How is it possible that Tevez and I won't play at the World Cup? The Italian League is difficult and competitive and we are hoping we can go to the World Cup," Llorente told Sky, as reported by Football Italia.
Spanish coach, Vicente del Bosque, had brought Llorente to a friendly match against South Africa. But he was not on the squad list when Spain played another friendly against Italia. Del Bosque preferred Diego Costa and Alvaro Negredo to Llorente.
Tevez's situation is not even better than Llorente's. Since Argentine was kicked out in the quarter-final of the 2011 Copa America, Tevez has not been named in the country’s squad. A rumor said he had a personal problem with Argentina coach, Alejandro Sabella.
Although Llorente and Tevez may miss out Brazil this summer, they said they would not give up. The two key players for Juventus have a chance to bring Italian and Europa titles.
"It will be difficult but we are doing well with Juve. Let’s see," Llorente said.
