Witnesses Testify on AQJ Trial

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - AQJ a.k.a Dul, the youngest son of musician Ahmad Dani who became a defendant of a traffic accident on Jagorawi toll road, returned to trial at a Southern Jakarta District Court, today. The trial session is on witness testifying.

A spokesman for Southern Jakarta District Court, Djaniko Girsang, said there are 20 witnesses testifying alternatively in the trial of defendant AQJ. He had no knowledge on how many witnesses to attend today’s trial.

On the previous witness information trial, Thursday, March 27, the prosecutor presented six witnesses - two PT Jasa Marga employees, two family members of dead victims, one family member who suffered injuries and AQJ's girlfriend, Fajrina Khaeriza. "Each of them convey their acknowledge concerning the incident and accident that occured," said Djaniko.

At the hearing, Tuesday, February 25, the legal prosecutor Ibnu Su'ud prejudged AQJ with Articles 310 Paragraph 2, 3 and 4 of the Traffic Constitution with a maximum conviction of 6-year imprisonment. However, since AQJ is an underage, the sentence is deducted by half, which is 3-year imprisonment.

AQJ became a suspect of the traffic accident in Jagorawi toll road in September 2013. The Mitsubishi Lancer he drove lost control causing it to hit a road barrier and threw them into the other side of the lane.

AQJ's car hit two others - a Daihatsu Gran Max and a Toyota Avanza.The accident claimed seven lives and injured nine people, including Dul and his friend.
