TEMPO.CO, Newcastle - The upcoming trend-setter Google Glass is currently being examined to be used as a daily aid for people who suffer from Parkinson disease. Researchers at Newcastle University are examining if Google Glass can help Parkinson patients to monitor their symptoms, allowing them to have better mobility.
Researchers are conducting a research over Parkinson patients, by allowing them to use the Glass at home. Lynn Tearse, one of the research participants, said that the device helps her to communicate with other people.
Small sensors on the Glass could measure eye and head movement and alert users if they start to experience symptoms, allowing them to take necessary medication before their symptoms occur and render them immobile.
John Vines, senior associate of the research, said that the Glass help restore control to the patients. The gadget can also be used as a reminder, communication device, and assistance to other activities.
