TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One more locally-made horror movie will be coloring the national movie industry. The horror movie entitled 'Solitaire' is directed by Rico Michael. Rico adapted the movie from real conditions of urban people who are often trapped in their own solitary lives.
"We made the movie based on a true story that is different from stories about kuntilanak, sundel bolong, and other urban myths," said Rico in a press release on Saturday.
According to Rico, the film will tell the story of four main characters who each experiences their own scary event at the same night. The movie director also said that he tried to eliminate scenes that show violence, sexuality, or woman abuses which has been dominating Indonesian horror movie.
"I'm trying to bring out the fear inside the audiences through a psychological approach to this movie," said the man who is currently studying at New York Film Academy in the United States. Rico then explained that his movie is inspired by the styles of horror movies produced by Japan, Korea and Thailand.
The production of the film will be started on April 16 and planned to enter the cinemas by the end of this year.
