TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One of natural tourism attractions owned by Indonesia is its waterfalls. According to Travelongue March 2014 edition, these are the four magical waterfalls existing in Indonesia:

1. Mursala Waterfall

Mursala waterfall is located on Mursala Island, Central Tapanuli, West Sumatra. Its height reaches 35 meters. It would need approximately two-hour boat trip from Pandan to reach this waterfall.

Through some black reefs, the waterfall drop straight into the shallow ocean water. Underneath it lays colorful corals with small fishes running around between the corals. Tourists are recommended to snorkel here.

Many have been wondering of the water's origin, since Mursala Island is not big enough to produce such large amount of freshwater. The waterfall even flow during dry season. Some predict that the water is coming from Lake Toba and flowing through an underwater river.

2. Jogan Waterfall

Jogan Beach in Purwodadi Village, Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta has a wondrous waterfall too. The waterfall drops straight from a top of a cliff and splashes on the reefs and stones below it. It usually takes approximately 30 minutes to reach the location from Wonosari (the nearby village) or two hours from Yogyakarta. The road to Jogan Beach is quite challenging. The road has sharp turning points. However, the view of unique limestone hills could drive away tourists' boredom along the journey.

3. Binangalom Waterfall
Located just next to Lake Toba in North Sumatra. Binangalom waterfall drops down straightly into the lake. The name of the waterfall was taken from a name of a nearby village in Lumban Julu District, Parapat. The word 'lom' is taken from Batak language which means cold water.

The water is coming from a river near the village. It has to go through seven-stepped cliff before it eventually falls down into the lake. Tourists are usually seen swimming in the lake or just relaxing while observing the egrets catching fishes. Although the access to the location is relatively limited, tourists can rent boats to transport them to the waterfall's location.

4. Parang Loe Waterfall

Parang Loe waterfall is quite captivating with its steep and rocky texture. The waterfall has yet available to be open for public. However, the location is a must-visited place for adventurers and photographers.
